Natural Fragrances to Eliminate Toxicity

Fragrances can be one of the the sources of cancer say some recent studies. This is the air hazard I find more difficult to eliminate for a Greener environment. The market noticed that odors sell well either in cosmetics, shampoos, lotions, perfumes, soaps, cleaning products and even food, such as puddings, cookies, cakes, not to mention the strongly scented cleaning products! Almost everything we consume has a scent, did you notice? Often versions of fragrance free are not even available...I know some work places are promoting a work environment that has to be fragrance free. Will this going to work? I really wanted to know how this is going to be? Will people going to be prohibited to use perfumes and deodorants?

There are a few solutions to substitute some of these scented products. I have heard of soy candles. They are made out of soy wax and contain no harmful carcinogens. Producing 95% less soot than their counterparts. You can order them online at http://www.findsoycandles.com/.

If you need just a product that will block odors, when you fry fish or from the garbage can, you can use a open box of baking soda, that by the way is an excellent alternative to tooth paste; 100% natural, cheap and it will whiten your teeth at the first use.

If you want to have your house with a good smell, there are natural solutions as well. You can make your own potpourri with lemon and orange skins, ginger, lavender and cinnamon and vanilla bean sticks. If you make a strong infusions of this elements, they will also scent your house.

Another option is also the use of essential oils infused in wood chips as a potpourri. Essential Oils are pure aromatic plant extracts that are obtained from aromatic plant distillation.
