Paper or Plastic Bag?

That is an easy answer! Paper bags are a good option if compared to plastic bags. Paper bags take about a month to naturally decompose in the environment, while plastic bags take 20 to 1000 years to decompose, depending on the density of the plastic that was used.

The best alternative is the now so popular "Go Green" cloth bags that can be bought for inviting prices in any local supermarket or even online. They cost an average of $3.00 per unity. Cloth bags are reusable, you cannot possibly go greener than that! Keeping them in the car,it is the best way to never forget them whenever you go shopping. Better than this, they always come in handy to many other tasks, such as when you go to the beach, picnic or soccer game! It is a trendy and versatile "family item"!

  1. The cloth bags are a great option. They are reuable, and can fill a variety of house needs. The opportunity present with cloth bags is that they shift the burden of the enviroment soley on the consumer. Should not business share some of the responsibility for conservation?

  2. That is true! I think business should be more involved in this process as well. I know of some supermarkets that sell them for the cost price or even cheaper. I am not sure about how much they pay for buying in bulk, but I have seem these bags been sold by a dollar a piece! Not bad, right?!
